2010 Sebagoman Triathlon

Join us on Saturday, August 21st, 2010 at New York's Harriman State Park for the inaugural Sebagoman Triathlon.  Lake Sebago was the original site of the Harryman, but a freak storm wiped out the beach two weeks before our first triathlon.  We now return to this great venue which gives us access to the same bike course used on the Harryman, we'll have a new run course.  The August timing should provide a much different weather experience, warmer swim temperatures, and we'll have music to help move you along.  This event will be an Olympic distance race only!   This race is limited to a field of 400.

Genesis Adventures is pleased to announce that the 2010 Sebagoman is now an official partner with St. Jude Heroes Program. Participants can visit the Heroes page and create their own fund raising page then have family and friends make donations on their behalf. Click on the logo below to start fund raising now!

The Course

Course Maps

2010 Sebagoman Bike Course

2010 Sebagoman Run Course

Lake Sebago beach and swimming are open from late June to early August.  We will have the event just after the beach closes for the season.  Also, there are no pets or alcohol allowed at Lake Sebago.

Swim Course

The swim course starts on the sandy beach of Lake Sebago. Water temperatures will be at their warmest of the season.  The swim course will be a 0.9 out and back rectangle marked with large red buoys.  You will keep the buoys on the left throughout the swim course.  When you exit the water you will have a short run on the sand up to the cement walkway, we place foot washing bins here to wash off the sand, then you will head down the walkway to the parking lot to reach the transition area.  You will cross the mat that will end your swim time as you approach the transition area - "Swim In".  After you complete your transition to the bike, you will exit the transition area out the opposite side from where you entered - "Bike Out".  We will wave start approximately 100 people per wave. You will receive your wave assignments closer to the event date.

Bike Course - Update June 15th, 2010

The bike course is a difficult 21-mile course. When you exit Lake Sebago you will turn right then quickly move to the left for a U-turn on Seven Lakes Dr. Take your first right for a hard climb up Lake Welch Dr. Continue on Lake Welch Dr. past Lake Welch and descend down towards the Palisades. Use caution at the bottom of the hill as you will need to merge with traffic and make a hard U-turn at the bottom. After the U-turn you now climb back up the long hill on Lake Welch and return to Seven Lakes Dr. At the end of Lake Welch, turn right onto Seven Lakes Dr. Head Northwest on Seven Lakes Dr., travel straight through Kanawaukee Circle up to Tiorati Circle. You will U-Turn at Tiorati Circle and return down the other side of Seven Lakes Dr. Straight through Kanawaukee Circle again and return to Lake Sebago turning right into the park. Continue back to the transition area. The "Bike In" location is the same as the "Bike Out" location, you will now reverse the flow through the transition area and exit "Run Out" the same place as "Swim In".

Bike Aid Station

With this new course, there is no bike aid station.

Run Aid Stations

There will be run aid stations approximately every 1.5 - 2.0 miles on the run courses. Aid stations will have Orange Gatorade and water.

Timing

Champion Chip Timing provided by CompuScore Computer Services. You will receive your chip at race check-in on race day. The chip is worn around your ankle with a Velcro strap throughout the event.
