Race Updates
Race Update#2 - The Hartford race is going to have multiple personalities. Some spots on the course will feel like the middle of the wilderness, while others will be quite urban. The New Balance Adventure Run will be on hard surfaces so you might want to go with lighter running shoes rather than trail shoes. We tested the paddling section with the river moving at 3 to 4 knots downstream. For you, that means it's 3x faster going downstream than upstream(At least 1/2 of the paddling will be fun). There will be some hike-a-bike sections and some travel through sections where the maps are incomplete. We are encouraging everyone to bring a pen or pencil with them during the race.
Race Update #1 - Well Old-Man Winter has made the scouting at the Hartford venue particularly interesting. However, once the snow melts and the floods subside, we're looking at the fastest and least technical course of the year. The theme for Hartford will be paddling. With the venue located on the Connecticut River, you can count on some extra paddling work. The run course will have an urban flavor given our location to downtown Hartford and the mt. biking will be flat and fast. Of course, we're working on a few special surprises to kick it up a notch!
